This workshop includes a discussion of elegies from the Romantic poets onward, with examples by poets including Percy Shelley, Mary Jo Bang, Jean Valentine, Forrest Gander, and others. Attendees will explore tone and images, the use of form (including free verse form), common tropes deployed in elegies, and related matters.
